This publication is dedicated to & maintained by those of us who really care about this city. We are many --- (and growing stronger with more people joining our ranks everyday). We are the nameless , faceless city, county, state, federal, and corporate taxpaying citizens & workers who are sick of the "good ole boy system" here in Houston, Texas --We were born on 7-30-1999. We are --- married & single-male & female, maintenance worker to Deputy Directors. We are the faceless civil servants who year after year do our job. We are the one's who see the hard earned tax $$s of the citizens in this area used & abused and given away to enrich a few greedy people with each new administration.

Orlando Sanchez

A reader said "Hey, HouSnitch...why file against Orlando Sanchez?"

Well, we don't just tell ya'll what we believe are questionable practices...we file a complaint & see that it is thoroughly investigated. IT'S WHAT WE DO!

ie:  Hilda Garza Scott ... we not only finally got 2 indictments from that OIG investigation from a grand jury, but we also filed with the Professional Engineer's Board for violating her code of ETHICS (click on the word Ethics to see their recent decision...which by the way they finally admitted she had violated her code of ethics)
We filed on Council member Robb Todd, for his expenditures on his personal cell phone use, and billing the taxpayers for his follies. That investigation is still on-going, and we believe close to a final decision.

We filed on Showri Nandagiri and Herb Lum over at PW&E....we received sustained findings against them both. In Showri's case it was using City property for his own personal gain, and in Lum's it was violating Departmental policy. We still have one concerning Lum to be unresolved, but very near completion, and we believe it will be a sustained finding. (we're considering filing a new one against Showri for malfeasance and just down right not doing his job in that $5 million screw up in Councilmember Goldberg's district. We're waiting on that so called "audit".)
We filed against the Police Chief, unfortunately the complaint was UNSUSTAINED, because the Chief gets to decide innocence or guilt, no matter what IAD may say...so we need to address this another way...like maybe an ordinance that allows the Chief to retain the right to discipline...but NOT decide innocence or guilt. IAD findings should stand.... And we still have investigations outstanding against Monique McGilbra & Trinh Pham.

So, in looking at Orlando, we are just following our normal course of action. (we say this because judging from past performance from Orlando, HE is going to say we are singling him out...so see above Orlando....and the answer is NOT!!!!)

Orlando's financial disclosure raises many more questions that just the registering of 3 companies at City Hall. Ban-Tex Investments, S&L Properties ,Nexo Latino Inc.

Stature Commercial Company Inc.,Stature Construction Company Inc.& Tremont Custom Homes

We couldn't find anything on Tremont Homes, but we were told they were probably a division of Perry Homes...

Jorge Casimiro president of those Companies up there has been a long time supporter of Orlando's...but it still doesn't answer the question...WHY REVIVE 2 COMPANIES THAT WERE ESSENTIALLY DECEASED FOR 8 YEARS, AND THEN ESTABLISH A 3RD WITHIN 11 DAYS OF EACH OTHER? AND WHY NEW COMPANIES? Orlando still has that Sanchez Consultants LLC over there on Woodway. And if these companies are truly companies....why not have a REAL , TRUE, FUNCTIONING office address for them? Why would someone just have "companies on paper?" (of course that Sanchez Consultants aren't in Good standing at the State either, so we can understand not using them...but why not clean up your name if the State holds you in bad standing???????)

After receiving the following letter:

Subj: Mayor's Race
Date: 3/01 11:08:19 AM Central Daylight Time
From:
To: Housnitch1
I am a Republican pct chair, and I heard that Gary Polland is supposedly supporting Orlando for mayor BIG TIME. He announced it at a Pachyderm meeting. Apparently he said that Orlando is going to be Houston's first Republican Hispanic mayor and he is going to ask the RNC (Republican National Committee) for half a million for his campaign. He plans to take the credit for being the driving force behind Orlando's kingship.
I guess he doesn't read HouSnitch. It doesn't make sense to me because surely all of Orlando's "problems" are going to hit the media??

Housnitch asked GOP Party Chair Gary Polland these questions:

HouSnitch----"Why would anyone set up 3 businesses within 11 days of each other?"

Gary---- "I really have no answer for that. As an attorney when people hire me to draw up paper work that would Incorporate their businesses for them, they plan to use those businesses, because it takes money to set them up."

HouSnitch---- "But Gary, Orlando only revived 2 companies that were basically dead for 8 years with a DBA (doing business as) at the County, no Incorporation papers were done."

Gary----"I really can't tell you why someone would do that Brenda."

HouSnitch---"Gary, HouSnitch has received an e-mail stating that you have announced your support of Orlando Sanchez for Mayor, and that you plan to ask the RNC for $500,000 to see that you are the driving force behind electing Houston's first Hispanic Republican Mayor, is this true?"

Gary----"When & Where was I supposed to have said this?, By the way, I really should send you a copy of Caroll Robinson's letter wanting his GOP award for the tax rate cut. He's mad we didn't give him an award. But he flip flopped. And now he wants his award."

HouSnitch----"You supposedly announced your support for Orlando at a Downtown  Pachyderm Meeting." ( we can see NOT giving Carroll an award....he did flip flop on it, but then it was a close call for Sanchez too, he was gonna back out and really hadn't committed and until the last minute we didn't know HOW he would vote)"

Gary----"I don't remember saying that at all. I remember saying that we were applying for some monies for our minority outreach here in Harris county. But that includes the African American Republicans, Hispanic American Republicans as well as Asian Americans. It is an out reach for 2002 NOT for any ONE person."

HouSnitch---"Thanks Gary, have a good Sunday"

Now, for that Third company of Orlando's.......Nexo Latino Inc. Ya'll remember, last publication we talked about Orlando's friend, Marco Bracamontes who actually does all the work for this company, and how Orlando registered this company at City Hall too? Well, a little research has turned up the fact that Nexo Latino Inc. has had some pretty lucrative jobs, what with being "just out of the gate". Look at that date of Incorporation, October 9th, 2000. In December they did work for The Houston Association of Realtors.

A quick call to Oscar Gonzales over at HAR said that Nexo Latino Inc., came highly recommended. That they had just finished work with The Greater Houston Partnership. Hmmmmmmmm. Do ya'll reckon Orlando used his Council position to set up meetings for Bracamontes & various high profile persons/companies/organizations? Do ya'll reckon that Jim Kolar @ the partnership, or HAR knew that in actuality they were giving Orlando these jobs? And, isn't it a conflict of interest for Orlando to do any PERSONAL business with the Greater Houston Partnership?...I mean, we here at the City give them a million dollars a year for PR on our behalf. That's a VERY incestuous relationship.

HouSnitch will ask the Major Offenders Department to be sure & look into that aspect also.

The biggest factor that voters consider, whether it's an election for president, governor, mayor, etc. is integrity and trustworthiness...let's start there:

As for Orlando’s work career before becoming a Councilmember ,  we could simply raise the question: Why don't we hear about Orlando's work as a probation officer anymore?  Now we hear nothing about any of that.   In no profile either the old one or the new one does it talk about that experience.  Why? Why does he feel compelled to lead people to believe he was some kind of businessman when the only business experience was being on Jorge Casimiro's payroll while running for office?  Is he trying to trick us into believing he's something he really isn't? Weren’t those honorable jobs? What happened to the fact that he is a naturalized citizen? Actually born in Cuba? That too has disappeared from his city profile. Also, what happened to his Mother’s last name? Almost without exception, Hispanics, especially NATURALIZED Citizens, have two last names. Like, My Husband is Flores Lopez…. Orlando’s Father was Sanchez Diego. Where’s Orlando’s second name? And no we aren’t suggesting that he be a "hyphenated American". We simply ask what has happened to that name? Whether he uses it or not it should show up on official documents…. like … Drivers license , voters registration yet it doesn’t. Actually "Successful Immigrant" would be a great story !

Everything about Orlando Sanchez, beginning in high school (and we'll go back to that another time... like...he spent three years at Strake Jesuit and then left before his senior year.  Wonder why he left?  inquiries are still out on that one) raises questions.  Some of the questions may not be legitimate but just the fact they're having to be asked should be cause for some concern. There's something strange only beginning to come to light here and we intend to find it ALL out.

HouSnitch still has some homework out on Orlando, and we'll get it to you as we get it finished, but before I supported ANYBODY, I'd do some of my own research, and not just the face we've seen sitting at Council table this past couple of months and not just because he's from the same political party you are ... Hell HouSnitch herself is a Democrat & Ya'll know I say ALMOST ANYBODY BUT BROWN ...if we're ever going to change the way things are... we have to say NO MORE....it takes brave committed people but think about it guys .... everything about Orlando is shrouded in mystery.  Is that what we want or do we want someone who doesn't try to hide his past, warts and all?
People don't JUST start a bunch of businesses .... there's usually an explanation. And the explanation isn't always legal. And WHERE does Orlando go when he travels on business?????? There's an old saying.
"Where's there's smoke, there's fire"....and we here at HouSnitch, along with all Texans just love a good Bar-B-Que!

Trinh Pham is leaving and Queen Monique remains.  We keep hearing the OIG is investigating both but nothing ever comes of anything.  Is this going to be another situation in which the investigation ends because one of the persons being investigated leaves and serves as the scapegoat?  Unless the Queen leaves too, for she is really the root of many of these problems, nothing is ever going to change in the bs department.

"Jesse Jones said in the 1930s:" Houston will never be a first class city as
long as there is rail running down on Main Street."

METRO knows that ground level rail is the most dangerous mode of transportation.  Based on the experience of other cities Houston can expect a minimum of 7 fatalities a year on this proposed line. Dallas has only two miles of ground level rail and already had 2 fatalities. The Blue Line
between Long Beach and Los Angeles averages 10 fatalities a year. Portland's Westside line already had five fatalities. Houston will have more than 40 crossings, more than any of the other lines. Why must we have these fatalities? The answer is simple:

The reason METRO is not building an elevated system downtown is that it costs more than METRO has available without a bond issue. The cost of elevating "light" rail is prohibitive and METRO knows that any bond issue calling for such a costly transit system would be defeated by a knowledgeable public.

Did you know that there are elevated transit systems that could be built for $20 million per mile?

Let METRO allow the competition to bid on an elevated system and the public
will approve a 21st Century Monorail."

For 50 years the career politicians in Congress have been looting the Social Security Trust Fund
for their own political benefit.  Now career politicians in Texas want to do some looting of their own --- looting Texas Permanent School Fund (created in 1854 to provide instructional materials for our children).  They also want to take away the right of Texans to elect the members of the State Board of Education.
Tell Gov. Rick Perry, Lt. Gov. Bill Ratliff and Speaker Pete Laney to keep their hands out of the Texas Permanent School Fund --- and off our constitutional rights.

The job posting for trinh pham's job is out, this is a deputy director's job.  The only requirement for the job is that you have a bachelor's degree.  That's all!  The requirements for an AAIII are more stringent than this.  The door is now wide open for queen monique to hire whomever she pleases for this job.  Maybe another close friend like trinh, maybe another friend of the mayor's.  Whomever she hires you can be sure they'll be as incompetent as queen monique is.  A year on the job and she has proven herself incapable to do the job she was hired for.  queen monique is a looser and, like the emperor with no clothes, no one wants to admit it.

Sorry Brenda, it took me so long to answer your e-mail from 2/23. I do attend the scheduled Council meetings. However, this was a specially called meeting which I was given a few days notice.  I have other City commitments to the voters who elected me in the District I represent . I honor my committments when I schedule months in advance to speak at programs, and other activities, in representing the City.  When I am preparing my schedule months in advance, Mondays had never been a scheduled Council meeting day. I am being paid part time wages by the City to be here on Tuesdays and Wednesdays per the charter. Although I work or volunteer for my district twelve to sixteen hours a day, you can find me still at my office till nine and eleven at night. You can check with the Guards for verification. When I am not here late at night, I am at meetings with the constituents who elected me. My schedule will show that I work seven days a week, with very little time for my husband, children, grandchildren, and other family members. My family understands that I am a servant for the people who elected me. I hope this will clear-up any conceived notion that I AM DITCHING MY CIVIC DUTY

Darlin.....as to that first comment that you took so long to answer my mail....Carol if it takes you a month and 5 days to answer an e-mail...i'd say you haven't gotten  your office as organized as you should. As to the comments about responsibilities to the voters who elected you, have you forgotten that i worked not only your campaign, but also was a poll watcher for you on election day because of the conflicts in one of your precincts? And ya know what....MANY, MANY people live, and raise families on that salary you call "part time pay" . I'd LOVE to make HALF of that $42,000 + you get paid. And HouSnitch bets that if Lee Pee had called that meeting you would have been there......

It is clear that we have finally started to slide down the slippery slope towards Socialism, a system of Orwellian-style Big Brother government from which there may be no recovery.  In our case "Baby Doc" Lee. P. Brown is our Big Brother, when he is not out of town.

The City has boldly started to takeover the delivery of goods and services that should only be provided by the private sector, not by the State.  The City has started a bottled water business, they run the airports, housing, mass transit, health care,  hotels, convention and entertainment facilities, and a cable TV channel.  They have cut special deals with a few elite to open the public purse to benefit the stadiums and arena.  The bureaucrats, many unelected and unaccountable to the taxpayers,  have committed hundreds of millions of our tax dollars to fund these boondoggles!

It is not their money...it's your money they are squandering!  They took it from you, under police power if necessary, through a myriad of tax schemes.  And it truly is time to stop them from mortgaging our future just to feather a few nests!

The City must get out of these ventures that displace private enterprise.  How many remember the days before JFK sponsored legislation that lead to the formation of publicly funded transit which drove the private operators out of business.

NO MORE BOONDOGGLES, NO MORE TAXES, NO MORE POLITICIANS GIVING AWAY OUR MONEY!

ANYBODY BUT BROWN...WELL ALMOST ANYBODY!!!!!!

The problem is not with the current HFD fast tracks, it is the fact that the higher ups don't like the racial breakdown and have stopped any further fast tracks. This means that when the current classes (2 & 4) graduate on March 29, no more cadets will hit the station between then and February at the earliest. With our current manpower "situation" this is a bad situation. The last funded class for this fiscal year (class 5) starts on March 20th, and graduates on or about June 16th.....2002. They will being going to paramedic school straight out of fire school. They will be off probation before they get out of school.

Dear Brenda
The rumor going around the building services department is that we are going to get bigger.  I can not believe this department is going to expand when we can not manage what we already have.  We took on the facilities from the police department and there is so much confusion.  Now we are hearing we are going to take over the facilities from the library department, the fire department, and the aviation department.  Then there are functions in public works mcgilbra wants to take over.  If only this election was over with and someone new would come in and stop this madness.  I just do not see how this can be allowed to continue.
IS ANYBODY OUT THERE LISTENING????????????

Now about Lee. P. - a couple of weeks ago King Jon Matthews was laughingly referring to the Mayor's style of leadership as that resembling either Papa Doc, or, was it Baby Doc?
This, my sweet child, is what makes Houston a "World-Class" city like New York!

Last Saturday Mark Ellis wrote that he would not give any raise to municipal employees.  It is indeed sad to think that the Councilmember has such low opinion of the employees.  The police and firefighters have received a hefty pay increase under Brown.  The municipal employees have not received any
raise except a 2% that was really a 1% raise 2 years ago.  Yes, it costs more for the City to pay for employees health insurance, but the employees have to pay increased co-payments, increased gas and  electric bills; have to pay more at the gas pumps, and may have to pay increased insurance payments. Mr. Ellis feels that only police and firefighters have any responsibilities
for the well being of the citizens of Houston.  What if Mr.Ellis' sewer backs up or he has no water,  he needs a birth or death certificate, his kids need to use the library, his car hits a pot hole or the traffic light malfunctions etc.
It is irresponsible when the politicians receive raises based on something not connected with the approval of raises for the employees.  The politicians should receive raises only if the employees get one.  The rate can be decided by state laws.
I think Mr.Ellis owes an apology to the 15,000 non classified city employees.

ARE YOU SURE MARK SAID NO RAISE?...OR THAT WE CAN'T AFFORD A RAISE?....Those are 2 very different things. If it's the first.....see how many City Employees live in his district, and make sure they are all registered to vote.

Subject: Signs
Why the hell did Lee P. spend $500,000 on two signs at IAH.  They can't afford to build a new fire station for the two they are tearing down, but they have enough for two signs that hopefully will be out-dated after Nov. 6!!???

Snitch -
Well I was right about Jordy - wasn't I.  Now let me tell you other news
that you need to help prevent from happening. Since Carol Alvarado is pissed off now that she was passed over for chief of staff - she is leaving the mayor's office to run for District I council seat being vacated be Castillo..  But before she runs - she is making fundraising phone calls from her office in the mayor's office (illegal!!!!!).  Marc Campos is telling everyone she is doing it - and he is proud of it.
PLEASE INVESTIGATE and help stop her from hurting Houston.

#1) Neither Carol nor Marty ever wanted to be Chief of Staff...NOBODY wants it!  (even Jordy's NEW cards say ACTING Chief of Staff...he doesn't want it either....but the money people need at least ONE person in there who will tell the truth!)

#2) Carol doesn't want to run for District I....she makes twice the amount of money in her current position.....BUT!!!!!, and here comes the BUT...

#3) For 4 years now Carol and by default Frumencio Reyes & his bunch, have promised the Mayor they could deliver the Hispanic vote. Carol has guaranteed the Mayor voter turn out in her home district of Council I for the Brown administration ticket.....EXCEPT.... W. R. Morris is running for the seat, and he & Brown are enemies. W. R. has spoken out about the evil goings on in this administration since Brown took office. And Brown has NOT met the needs of the Hispanic community.

The thing with Hispanics is...you might can buy off our "so called" leaders.....but the people who actually vote, use their own minds & thought processes.

Anyway, The MAYOR is pushing for Carol to run for that seat.....he wants her to prove she can turn out the vote for him...and she can't. She has forgotten the needs of the barrio. And she has lost their support. (that she is being "friendly" with Don Hollingsworth has lost her a lot of support back in the Magnolia area. see Tim Fleck 's Brown's Diss-functional City Hall Family ©2001 New Times

You should have seen their faces this past Saturday at Fun Day in the Park when W.R Morris and about 40 of his entourage wearing Morris for District I shirts came through the park. Carol had the Parks department tell them to take down their banner......Tsk, tsk, tsk.......Pct Chair & union steward Freddy Blanco who is a Morris supporter was angry but they did as told. hmmmmm I remember when the people pushing FOR the arena set up in Fun Day Park events, even The Democratic Party and other candidates did it during other years........why the discrimination NOW???????

HouSnitch did ask Carol if she was using her office for fund raising so she could run for the seat, and she said "I haven't even declared for a candidacy, that would be illegal for me to do, especially from my office" She didn't say she WASN'T doing it...just that it would be illegal. (LOL) Like this administration hasn't ever done anything illegal!  Boys & Girls...IF you want to send a message to this Mayor, and his ill chosen staff barnacles .... CONTRIBUTE: TIME, MONEY AND EFFORT TO ELECT anyone they don't want!....We'd love to see Carol have to run for that seat....it'd wake up the Mayor to just how much he's been hoodwinked by Carol/Frumy etal.
