Does anyone know whether there were contacts, by anyone connected with the City
of Houston, to the 1st Court of Appeals, which overturned Jack Yetiv's judgment against the City of Houston and the ruling that eight
clauses of the city housing code ("CURB ordinance") are unconstitutional? This is the case that dealt with the city's refusal for two years to issue repair
permits to the Aspenwood Apartments at 2121 Pech Rd. This panel includes former police chief Sam Nuchia, who should have disqualified himself as a former
enforcer of CURB, and Adele Hedges. Judge Murry Cohen wrote the opinion. This request
for information on contact would also include contact through political
contributions to an official with the City of Houston &/or through judicial
campaign contributions.

There is a "gag order" in effect for all employees with a threat of losing their jobs. But I will tell you this. The practice of filling unadvertised supervisory positions with friends and relatives of friends with very little service time (or none) is common practice in the Aviation Department and Airport Police. This was done as resent as September, 1999. No one from "downtown" wants to travel that far from their territory to really take a hard look at what's happening. The people "out there" that handle grievances spend their time with the employees discouraging them from filing against the "big guys".
PLEASE don't use my e-mail address because it could create some big problems.
Sincerely

It is done like that in EVERY department. WE understand about the "powers that be"...that is why this page is so successful.

WOW! As a long-time opponent of Neighborhood Traffic Projects and speed humps, I'm jazzed by your site!
It took me forever to get to it, because apparently everyone else is trying to as well. But it was worth the wait, and just in time, too. An
NTP in my neighborhood that we thought was dead is rearing its ugly head
again. I will be writing shortly to pass them on to you.
Keep up the good work!

Yes, we were experiencing many difficulties this week after the Houston Chronicle article. We believe that we have been able to fix those problems, but there will be "peak" hours of traffic, and
unfortunately even WE can't get into our own site when that happens. We also had someone trying to "jam" our site for about 2 days. We do have the
ISP read out from our web server and since it is illegal, we have reported it to the FBI.
HOUSNITCH is dedicated to staying on-line, to bring the inside facts about your city, county, state & federal government, and how it
really works. But it seems there are some JUST as dedicated to
see that we don't. The Tech war begins!

How 'bout this: If the incumbent mayor and council do not take action, then the 20,000 city employees can not only speak themselves at the
voting booth, but each enlist just four of their aunts, uncles, moms, dads, grandparents to vote for anybody but who is there now. Bring the
power of the old who vote to scare them into action!
I noticed that this was the first time Jerry King declined to respond to the media. For weeks, I've wondered if he hadn't been feeding stuff to
you. Seems to be a decent fellow - he's helped us in real estate immensely, but tied down by Brown, Haines, Council, and yet expected to
take the blame.
One of my co-workers said today that the "legitimate media" is on it now, which is incredible. (Did they ask Bob Lanier's permission
first?) It's now "in their face"- impossible to ignore. I followed the fire dept. cases, and you got far more honest coverage
than the slanted mess that it just about killed the Chronicle to write.
You're doing great! Today's Chronicle article on Brown raises a question: just what
interest is closest to his heart? Working with Sylvia Garcia to find where the city needs overhauling? Or making sure the power is passed on
to those that will continue the corruption?
Keep going! The defiant few left are going to try to put
together something for you. Bet your e-mail is watched.

No Mr. King has not joined the ranks of our snitches....Our web server is a secured site---and we
now change our passwords daily.....Thank you for the encouragement, it is good
to see SOMEONE......... ----ANYONE get off their *&#@( and take some action----With a STRONG Mayoral form of government- I think most council members hands are somewhat tied----we have learned that Tatro
has at least begun asking questions about projects in his district....even Rob Todd has tagged one or 2 in his until
he can get the questions he needs to ask, answered---...........with the exception of at-large members Annise Parker & Chris Bell,
not too many of the others ask any questions. We are dedicated to keeping on...we will not stop all the fraud...and
misuse...BUT...we can keep it from being so third world blatant.

Keep up the good work. Its obvious that the mayor has found a way to skim big bucks or he wouldn't be trying to push through so many
construction projects.
I can only hope that the next stadium deal fails. What a boondoggle for the taxpayers of Houston. Nothing like lining pockets and providing
corporate welfare.

Dear Sirs, I had a set of blueprints stolen from 3300 main st.. Value at 2844.88$. I am a contractor in the city of Houston. The people that I was working for decided not to pay me, they fired me on Aug. the 23th and then on the 25th of the same month, they stole my blueprints from city hall. My name is
******at %%%% with a phone number of 713####### The name of my company is
******* at same address. The blueprints were to &*^%)#@^ The owners of the
(property) went down to city hall and checked them out without paying me for them. I have been talking to city hall now for three weeks. I am a small company and can not take large loses like this. As of this date I have no prints or money for their worth. I do have names and phone numbers of all the people in the
mayor's office and city hall that I have talked to! Can you help me?
WE DID SUGGEST SOME PEOPLE WHO WE THOUGHT COULD HELP HIM...WHICH PROMPTED THE

Hello, .. I did talk to *&^(%$# and they were most
helpful. As of this time, I feel that you have saved my life.
*&^%)$%# did not sound like they were too happy that Housnitch
had recommended their services, but, they did move very fast to resolve my problem. To
morrow I talk to a Lt.)&^%$$ working with the mayor's office to file charges
against the people that stole my
blueprints. They will do, two to ten years in prison if found guilty. I owe you so much,
you have saved me from many hardships. I will at this time tell you a little about myself, if you don't mind. Maybe something you can use in your
web page. I have been in college for eleven years. I graduated top 1% of my class.
I got hurt on the job, at local 68 here in Houston Plumber's union.
Two back operations and in a wheel chair for ten years, I am doing real good not to be on
welfare. I also got hurt in the Vietnam war as a United States Marine. The government
pays me 600.00$ a month. Besides that, I made six thousand dollars last year. I always thought that being the best was
the most important thing to learn. There is a not course in college that
teaches me how to lie or steal or rip off people, to earn what I work for. I have given up many times and God has always saved this worthless soul.
Housnitch, I think you all are God's special people, and don't let anyone ever tell you
different. I have always helped the underdog. For someone that has gone so far out of there way to help me, I feel like to you
all, I should be an open book. I will keep you informed.
Thanks for being there, *&^%$#, Call me , I am your's.....
We do what we can... and right now not too many people like the idea of being associated with us, let alone recommended BY us. We can imagine the reactions when you mentioned we had suggested that you contact those persons.....but we are glad that you were helped. That is what the government is for....FOR THE PEOPLE...(AND WHILE WE'RE ALL FOR PROSECUTING THE PEOPLE WHO TOOK YOUR PLANS)....what about the CITY EMPLOYEE/ DEPARTMENT who gave the plans to them in the first place??? Thank you for the compliments....and we can all use your prayers & passing the message along. Best of luck, be well.. and keep reading us!
Housnitch
P.S. This person was able to recover his blueprints...Though after 31 days the people who stole them could have copied them and re-submitted them as their own...We hope the investigation into this matter will check that possibility. Time will tell.

Great website, it's about time someone exposed the corruption in city government! There has been a total disregard of taxpayer's complaints for too long. Keep up the good work, maybe we can rid city government of some of these crooks! Having worked for local school district, I know how these organizations work, they do not like employees that expose wrongdoing and have a way of terminating them. Organizations like them are the "Epitome of Nepotism", there are always friends and relatives in managerial positions that will cover for each other and the little guy doesn't stand a chance. Keep up the good work!

Date: 9/28/99 7:32:03 AM Central Daylight Time
From:
To: HOUSNITCH
Hi!
Great web site! I agree 100% with what you are doing.
Did you catch, either really early this year or late last year, there was a news story on the humps and how much damage they have already caused to both
Ambulances and Fire Engines. The figure was $24,000+. They interviewed one Captain at a firehouse and the good ol' city had put speed humps in every
direction from the fire station. He added the hump project adds about 2 minutes, on average, to their response times. Not a lot of time unless you
are laying on the floor with a heart attack. Of course, City Hall won't admit to this until either themselves or one of their loved ones is in need.
Sad.
Thanks A Lot! Keep Up The Good Work!
P.S. Sometime I should write you and tell you about how the toll road booths pick up your e-z tag and charge you when you're driving on the feeder
roads. To my knowledge this has never been addressed and the county is reaping a truckload of money every day from the dozing public. I can show
you several locations on the west side that do it 100% of the time.
YES sometimes you should tell us about those sites...

I have been reading your site for about the last month and a half. I have seen things that are really shocking. My question is should some of this be
considered illegal and is there some federal agency we can contact to
investigate since our own elected officials won't?? I have Emailed to the Mayor and Councilman Castillo and never received a response from either of
them. I guess that's not surprising. If there is anything I can do as a
taxpayer let me know, I am more than willing ......Keep up the good work!!!
IT's ALL ILLEGAL!!!! But everybody in a position of power to help---answers
right back to the Mayor.....and unfortunately he has no REAL opposition in the
upcoming elections
